From Morocco, to Patagonia, to the Bay of Fundy, adventure racing is everywhere. It's one of the fastest growing outdoor sports and is also the toughest. While there are no hard and fast rules, the races usually consist of four or five disciplines, and the teams must have both sexes represented. The most difficult races are five to ten days of nonstop action and include a mix of climbing, paddling, cycling and running.

Fitness, endurance, skill and intelligence are key elements for any team, but it's how well a team works together that will really decide their fate. When you haven't slept in 36 hours, you're cold, wet, and lost, flaring tempers and discord will sink the whole team. Remember most races require all members to finish together or be disqualified.
