Vancouver Vancouver and the surrounding regions have a wealth of companies, clubs and associations which support adventure sports and nature observation. Given the number of visitors to the region it isn't surprising that there are a lot of mountain bike, snowboard and outdoor gear shops .Rentals for almost any outdoor activity are readily available and now, in Whistler, you can even secure your gear in advance over the net. If you're new to a sport and want to try something different a guided trip is always a great way to go. If you don't have backcountry experience then engaging a guide or guiding company makes perfect sense in this part of the world, since the Coast and Mountains area is a true wilderness and not very forgiving if you don't have the training, gear and experience. |
In Whistler you'll find guides and guiding companies that will take you just about anywhere to experience almost anything (well maybe not anything) from backcountry boarding, to class V white water, to wicked single track or how about a a river crossing on a zip line (a Tyrolean traverse).
