The Escarpment Plan The Niagara Escarpment is a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve and while that sure has a comforting ring to it, environmental protection is not assured by the designation. The Bruce Trail Association is working hard to secure a truly protected status for the length of the trail and its immediate surroundings. This is now supported by the Government but much work remains to be done to ensure its success. Consider providing support for this important process in whatever form you might, your assistance will be more than welcome. The "Bruce Trail Reference" is comprehensive and complete. Each section of the trail is carefully detailed and supported with a map on a scale of 1:50,000. The guide comes in a compact format six ring binder, with a plastic cover to help protect it from the rain. This binding is not just sturdy, it's also very practical, since it allows each section to be easily updated. The guide is available from the Bruce Trail Association as well as most outdoor stores in southwestern and central Ontario. Don't set out without a copy, it's well worth the price and your dollars contribute to the support of the trail.
