Ontario's Parks of the St. Lawrence Campgrounds

The parks of the St. Lawrence are located between the Quebec border and Kingston along the shores and islands of the St. Lawrence River in Ontario. The parks have hundreds of campsites available and a variety of facities and attractions. This includes the Crysler Park Marina, Upper Canada Migratory Bird Sanctuary, Upper Canada Village, Upper Canada Golf Course and the wonderful Queen Elizabeth Gardens.

Note: The parks have alcohol bans, usually during the long weekends. The Upper Canada Migratory Bird Sanctuary has an alcohol ban throughout the season. Contact the parks for the details.

Ivy Lee

A campers park, Ivy Lea is one of the most popular of the parks. There is a walk-in camping area with nine site that the kids will love. You can go cycling on the St. Lawrence Recreational Trail or swimming at one of the parks beaches.

The park is located just off the Thousand Island Parkway on the 81 (bridge to the US) below 401. You can reach the park directly from the 401 by taking exit 659. The park is approximately 35km west of Brockville.

Riverside-Cedar Campsite

Located along the old highway this is one of several campers parks on route. The park has a number of programs and recreational facilities and is the closest to many of the attractions and facilities managed by the park system, including Crysler Park Marina, Upper Canada Migratory Bird Sanctuary and Upper Canada Village.

The park is located about 30km west of Cornwall off Country Road 2. From the 401 take exit 758 if you're coming from the east or 750 if from the west.

Long Sault Parkway - Mclaren, Woodlands, Mille Roches

There are actually three campgrounds along the parkway, McLaren, Woodlands and Mille Roches. Each has it's own flavour and all have waterfront, electrical and RV sites except Mille Roches which doesn't have specific sites for RVs. The park is close to most of the park systems facilities and attractions, including Crysler Park Marina, Upper Canada Migratory Bird Sanctuary and Upper Canada Village.

  • Woodlands 179, 45 with electricity, 17 with water and electricity
  • McLaren 206, 50 with electricity, 15 with water and electricity

In addition to the above Woodlands and Mille Roches have food concessions.

The parkway is located just west of Cornwall. On the 401 take exit 778 if your coming from the east or 770 from the west.

Upper Canada Migratory Bird Sanctuary Campground

The campground is surrounded by the bird sanctuary which allows for some wonderful opportunities for nature observation. You'll find 8km of hiking trails as well as access to the St. Lawrence Recreational Trail. Interpretive programs are numerous.

From the 401 take exit 758 if your heading east or exit 770 if your heading west. The park has a complete alcohol ban throughout the season.

Glengarry Park Campsite

A campers park not far from Montreal with swimming in Lac Saint-Francois and interpretive programs during the high season.

  • 183 Campsites, 50 with electricity, 14 have water and electricity

The park is located 3km east of Lancaster a short distance from the Quebec border. From the 401 take exit 814 and then head east along the South Service Road.

Central Ontario North RV & Private Campgrounds - Georgian Bay, Muskoka, Bruce Peninsula, Grey, Lake Simcoe, Algonquin West

Located north of Toronto and east of Algonquin Park. This is the biggest part of Ontario's cottage country, along with the neighboring areas of Kawartha Lakes and Haliburton.

Central Ontario South RV & Private Campgrounds - Peterborough, Kawartha, Haliburton, Bancroft, Algonquin South

Located in the heartland just above Lake Ontario and south of Algonquin Park. This is a part of Ontario's cottage country, along with the neighboring areas of Lake Simcoe, Muskoka and Georgian Bay.

Northern Ontario RV and Private Campgrounds - Nipissing, Manitoulin, Superior, Sudbury, Sault Sainte Marie, Thunderbay, Lake of the Woods, Algonquin North
