has over 500 Provincial Parks and has recently expanded. The park system
is the envy of much of the world, due to the huge land mass it protects
and how well thought out the conservation plans are. Of course, from an
outdoor recreational stand point the parks are also sensational, catering
to all manner of enthusiasts. Many of Canada's finest canoe areas are located
in the province. Backpackers and hikers truly have endless opportunities
here. Kayakers and cyclists are also well served. Finally if your doing
a road trip, many of the parks are located off Canada's main highways, providing
excellent opportunities to camp along route. Even though the parks have
several thousand campsites, reservations are recommended in high season
and essential in some cases. |
