| Ecological Reserve |
Location: Only a short drive from St. John's. Visitors are not allowed to land on the islands, but the boats circle them.
Description: This Ecological Reserve is one of North America's largest colonys' of black-legged kittiwakes and also of Atlantic puffins. Thousands of puffins, murres, and other birds are visible. Storm petrels also nest there by the hundreds of thousands, but are only out of the burrows at night, so it is a miracle if you see one. The trip is great.
