purchase a vehicle permit when you enter. As well, there
are fees for camping, and backcountry permits etc. Fees

Summer clothes are appropriate at this time of year but be sure to bring a complete set of warm clothes along with rain gear. - Just west of the park By Air By Car Edmonton is about 6hrs from the park by way of highway 2 to Calgary then following highway 1 west into Banff, then into the park. Vancouver is a long days drive (although its very scenic) of at least 9hrs. In the winter the driving will probably take longer and be far more difficult due to the mountain weather, particularly if your coming from Vancouver. Heavy snowfalls, avalanches and other factors may make roads impassible. Check weather and road conditions before your set out.
